The piece below is written for 10-string mandolin, guitar, and acoustic baritone guitar. It is titled Henry Manns, after the Australian bushranger. He was the only one of Frank Gardiner's group to be hanged in 1863 for the robbery of a coach carrying gold, despite desperate and impassioned attempts to save him from the gallows.

An indignant coda followed the hanging, as the hangman attempted to steal the leather boots from the body moments after death.

Written and recorded April 2019.
